What we do here

Everything on this list happens at 110 Brisbane Street. Nothing gets sent away to someone else and nobody gets a bill for work that was never needed.

01

Log book servicing

Your scheduled service done to the manufacturer's book, stamped and recorded, so the warranty on your car stays exactly where it is.

02

Roadworthy certificates

Safety certificates on cars and trucks, and on light and heavy trailers. Bring it in, we inspect it, and you get told straight what it needs.

03

Repairs on cars and trucks

General mechanical repairs across the lot, from a family runabout to a work truck. No job is handed off somewhere else.

04

Trailer repairs

Box trailers, plant trailers, caravans and campers. Bearings, brakes, couplings, suspension and lights, all sorted here.

05

Exhausts and mufflers

Exhaust work and muffler replacement, fitted on site, using Carline, Lukey and Walker parts.

06

Trailer parts counter

A proper parts shelf you can walk up to. Couplings, hitches, brake assemblies, jockey wheels, U-bolts and lights, in stock rather than on order.

Most town workshops will service your car and leave the trailer to somebody else. We do roadworthys on light and heavy trailers, repair them, and keep a proper parts shelf you can walk up to and buy from.

Couplings, hitches, brake assemblies, jockey wheels, U-bolts and lights, sitting on the shelf rather than three days away on order. Box trailers, plant trailers, caravans and campers all get the same treatment.

Run by Josh Foster

Geben Mechanical has been on Brisbane Street since 2022, in the old brick garage under the weathered painted muffler sign. Josh runs the workshop with his team, and the thing people write about afterwards is never the workshop. It is that they were told the truth about what their car needed.

One customer broke down at a quarter to five on the way home. Josh asked a couple of questions down the phone, ordered the part before anyone had laid eyes on the car, and sent his apprentice Jack out to it. The car was fixed by three the next afternoon, on the spot where it stopped.

That is roughly the standard. Local families, work trucks and business vehicles all come through the same door, and they go back out having had the work they actually needed.

“They do what they say they are doing and do not overcharge/over service. As a previous mechanical business owner, Josh’s ethic is rare.”

Somewhere decent to wait

If you are waiting on a roadworthy or a quick service, there is a real waiting room with proper seating and a window onto the street, not a plastic chair beside the compressor.

Drop in unannounced if you need to. One customer did exactly that one afternoon with car trouble, and it was assessed and fixed on the spot.

Josh and his team are the best. Integrity, honesty, and good old-fashioned service all around. They do what they say they are doing and do not overcharge/over service . As a previous mechanical business owner, Josh's ethic is rare. Great job team.

Yesterday my wife and I broke down at 4.45 on our way home. I rang Josh straight away he asked a couple of questions about our car and ordered the required part then sent out his apprentice. Jack confirmed what the problem was then made sure that my wife and I got home. By 3.0clock today we got a call to say that our car was fixed. I would like to point out this was a major job and completed where the car broke down. Jack was very humble about it and so was Josh. Anyone that needs a honest hard working mechanic should always ring Josh at Geben mechanics I could not recommend him and his staff highly enough.Ross Latter

Josh is the real deal. I dropped in one afternoon unannounced with car trouble and even though he was busy, he was able to assess and fix it straight away. He's always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help. Would not take my car anywhere else.
